Chip Implants for Employees

Posted: March 17th, 2015

Sweden has always been an early adopter of technology and it appears in relation to access control this no different. Employees working at Epicenter (15,000 square foot building in Stockholm) are being offered implants on a voluntary basis.

The implants are designed to be placed in the hands and make the process of pins redundant. It’s hoped that the technology can provide a platform for future growth. However will it catch on?

On the face of it the technology does appear intrusive however if it’s successful in Sweden then there’s no reason why it couldn’t prosper further afield. Certainly at the current time it seems far-fetched but in the future it is impossible to predict how buying habits will change.
